Doing His Part

This is the pink umbrella man! He is definitely doing his part to keep Santa Cruz weird. He strolls the Pacific Garden Mall with mini-steps. He always has a smile and a friendly nod for you. He wears pink from head to toe and from what I've heard, when he isn't doing his part, he is quite a normal guy.

Nightmare

I had a nightmare a night ago and it's still with me with vivid clarity. I was strolling along a beach front and saw a small beauty salon so I decided to stop in and get a haircut. The experience was quite pleasant and I enjoyed the exchange of banter with the hairstylist.

I received what maybe the best looking haircut of my life.

I proceeded to check out with the owner of the salon and she handed me a bill for $70. SEVENTY-FRICKEN-DOLLARS!!! I protested yelled and screamed until I was forced to pay up.

After that I stood in front of the salon for a while and told prosepctive customers to stay away. Then the salon owner chased me away.

......well it seemed like a nightmare to me!

Seagulls are like kids
Children love to, and can't resist, stepping in mud puddles, or if there is snow, they love to make angels in the snow. It's a must, I think, and fun.
Young men and women (of all ages) can't wait for the surf to show up, and they are fascinating to watch out there.
But there's another group out there who are an absolute delight to watch, and those are seagulls. They surf, but not in the water; they ride the air currents. They make me think of children jumping in mud puddles or making angels in the snow, or surfers in the ocean. Watch them soar on an air current, twist and catch another one. Whee!
Everything stops for them while they take time to enjoy surfing in the air. How wonderful to stand and share their experience.

Sloppy Seconds

This one is left over from X-mas....like the present you find at the back of the closet. I had meant to use it but I got busy with stuff, and you know. Anywho, I think this is pretty funny shit and I can only imagine what that drunk guy in the neck brace is saying to the Jesus dude. For some reason I imagine the next picture being the Jesus dude assaulting drunk neck brace guy with his condemnation poster. When in doubt always go for the hijinx!

Plappy Blue Beer

still swimming

silly social conventions

I thought it would come to me...hit me....drive me, just like it should. No. The new year event came and went and still no resolve.

The best I've come up with so far is to paint more and finally devote myself to the art of guitar playing. These are delightfully adequate resolutions but they fail to address all the soul-changing, spirit-enhancing areas of foci that will make me the ultimate man. Maybe I just need to buy meself a shirt that declares me the ultimate man. Maybe learning guitar and painting more is delightfully adequate.

Slappy Few Tears!
